EXPERIENCE

Maureen Juran is a partner with the law firm of Widner Juran LLP. Her practice includes representation of Colorado municipalities and special districts on a broad range of local government matters. Maureen currently serves as the Deputy City Attorney for the City of Centennial and as the Attorney for the Towns of Hot Sulphur Springs, Lochbuie and Palmer Lake, and the Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Protection District. Maureen’s practice includes advice on issues concerning home rule, zoning and land use planning, elections, taxation and revenue, real property, code enforcement, construction, liquor licensing and municipal prosecution.

Following a clerkship with Chief Justice Luis Rovira on the Colorado Supreme Court in 1991-1992, Maureen practiced municipal law for eight years with the Denver law firm of Gorsuch Kirgis LLP. Following a short stint practicing law in Colorado Springs, Maureen joined the firm and returned to the practice of local government law in 2004. Maureen lives in Colorado Springs and is an appointed member of the Steering Committee for PLanCOS, the comprehensive plan for the City of Colorado Springs. She also serves as an appointed member of the Board of the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority. In her spare time, she likes to run, read, garden, travel, ski and try to play tennis.
